At 4 years old Jason told his mother that he buttered toast better than she did. At 8 he remembers learning traditional Thai cuisine from his stepsister. At 12 after an episode of "Great Chefs Great Cities" He would write a wish list for the trip to the market including foie gras. Finally when he grew old enough to work he had two kitchen jobs through high school.

After high school he moved to the culinary mecca of Las Vegas where he worked for two James Beard award-winning chefs, Julian Serrano and Alessandro Stratta. The two restaurants receiving 5-Star ratings by the Mobile Travel Guide.

Jason left sin city to return home to sunny southern California where opened "Studio at the Montage Resort" under James Boyce which also received a 5 star rating. Jason then spent over 3 years under his mentor Chef Suzanne Goin at Lucques, moving up the ranks to Sous Chef. Suzanne recognized his talent and asked him to help open her new restaurant in Brentwood Tavern. Suzanne won "Best Chef in California" from the James Beard Awards and has been nominated several times for "Outstanding Chef in America."

In 2012 he decided to leave his Chef position for a leap of faith. With his wife bearing child Jason purchased his first mobile wood burning oven and called it Urban Pie. Now with 3 ovens and a massive catering kitchen in Los Angeles he serves his community a brand to be proud of.
